Liverpool are reportedly making significant strides in their efforts to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, with sources suggesting that the club has already reached a preliminary agreement to bring the Georgian goalkeeper to Anfield in the summer of 2025. The 23-year-old, who has earned 21 caps for the Georgian national team, has been the subject of much speculation regarding a move to the Premier League, and it appears that Liverpool is keen on securing his services as part of their long-term plans.

The Reds are seemingly preparing for the possibility of losing their current number one, Alisson Becker, who has reportedly attracted interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia. With this in mind, Liverpool is actively working on a contingency plan, and Mamardashvili, who has impressed during his time in La Liga with Valencia, has emerged as a key target.

According to a report by HITC, Liverpool has already secured an agreement in principle with Valencia for Mamardashvili to join the club in the summer of 2025. This arrangement would see the young goalkeeper remain with Valencia for the upcoming season, with a potential loan move to another Premier League club on the horizon. The report mentions that due to certain regulations, Liverpool would not be able to sign Mamardashvili and then loan him out to another Premier League side in the same transfer window. As a result, Valencia is expected to loan the goalkeeper to Bournemouth for the 2024-2025 season.

The financial aspects of the deal have also been outlined, with Liverpool reportedly agreeing to pay £30 million for Mamardashvili. Bournemouth, in turn, would contribute an additional £4 million as a loan fee for the season. This mutually beneficial arrangement seems to satisfy all parties involved, with both Liverpool and Valencia appearing content with the terms of the deal.

Mamardashvili, who has shown great promise in La Liga, is likely to be thrilled at the prospect of joining a club of Liverpool’s stature. The opportunity to compete for major trophies and work under the guidance of one of the best coaching staffs in the world is undoubtedly appealing to the young goalkeeper. Although he will remain with Valencia for another season, the experience he will gain, particularly if he moves to Bournemouth, will be invaluable in his development.

Liverpool fans will be eager to see how Mamardashvili progresses and whether he can eventually fill the big shoes left by Alisson, should the Brazilian goalkeeper depart. Alisson has been nothing short of sensational since joining Liverpool, establishing himself as arguably the best goalkeeper in the Premier League. Replacing him will be a significant challenge, but Mamardashvili has the talent and potential to rise to the occasion. As Liverpool continues to plan for the future, the Georgian international could prove to be a shrewd acquisition, one that bolsters their goalkeeping ranks for years to come.
