Liverpool’s players received mixed reviews following their unexpected defeat to Nottingham Forest at Anfield, marking Forest’s first win at the iconic stadium in over 55 years. Here’s how the Liverpool squad fared, as assessed by the *Liverpool Echo*.

    **Alisson Becker**: *Rating: 6/10*

The Brazilian goalkeeper had a relatively quiet first half with little to do apart from distributing the ball to Andy Robertson. He was unable to prevent Forest’s winning goal and was called into action again late on, making a save from Anthony Elanga, but otherwise had minimal involvement in the match.

    **Trent Alexander-Arnold**: *Rating: 6/10*

The right-back delivered a promising cross for Alexis Mac Allister’s first-half header but was preoccupied with defensive duties for much of the game. After an hour, he moved into a midfield role but failed to have a significant influence from that position.

    **Ibrahima Konate**: *Rating: 6/10*

Konate provided a solid defensive presence, particularly during a battle with Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White. His overall performance was stable, though he didn’t have much to contend with. He was substituted later in the game.

    **Virgil van Dijk**: *Rating: 6/10*

The Dutch defender had a relatively quiet game as Forest largely avoided attacking down his side. He was, however, effective in clearing set-pieces when needed. Van Dijk had a chance to score from a corner but headed over the bar in the dying minutes of the game.

    **Andy Robertson**: *Rating: 6/10*

Robertson struggled at times, particularly when dealing with Ryan Yates, and had difficulty defending against the threats from Forest’s right side. His offensive contributions were limited, and he received a yellow card before being substituted.

    **Ryan Gravenberch**: *Rating: 7/10*

One of Liverpool’s better performers on the day, Gravenberch made several key interventions in the early stages and helped push Forest back towards the end of the first half. He maintained his performance level even as the rest of the team struggled in the second half, though he was booked for a foul.

    **Alexis Mac Allister**: *Rating: 6/10*

The midfielder endured a physically challenging game, taking a few heavy challenges from Forest’s players. He did manage to create a chance for Diogo Jota and saw his own header saved. Mac Allister was substituted in the second half.

    **Mohamed Salah**: *Rating: 5/10*

Salah endured a frustrating game, with his touch letting him down on numerous occasions. He forced a save from Forest goalkeeper Sels in the second half but was largely ineffective, taking a number of speculative shots that failed to trouble the opposition.

    **Dominik Szoboszlai**: *Rating: 5/10*

The Hungarian midfielder struggled to find his rhythm throughout the game and made several poor decisions on the ball. While he showed slight improvement after the break, it wasn’t enough to impact the outcome of the match. He was also booked.

    **Luis Diaz**: *Rating: 6/10*

Diaz was a lively presence in the first half, even managing to hit the post after keeping the ball in play. He also won his personal duel with Ola Aina but faded as the game progressed and was substituted in the second half.

    **Diogo Jota**: *Rating: 5/10*

Jota found himself starved of service and was forced to drop deep in search of the ball. However, he struggled to make an impact and often found himself running into dead ends. He was substituted after an ineffective performance.

    **Substitutes**:

**Conor Bradley** (for Mac Allister, 61 mins): *Rating: 5/10*

Initially defended well against Callum Hudson-Odoi but was caught out when the winger cut inside to score the decisive goal.

**Cody Gakpo** (for Diaz, 61 mins): *Rating: 4/10*

Failed to impose himself on the game and often drifted into central positions where he struggled to make an impact.

**Darwin Nunez** (for Jota, 61 mins): *Rating: 4/10*

Looked rusty after coming on, with poor touch and decision-making hampering his performance. He made no notable contributions.

**Curtis Jones** (for Konate, 75 mins): *Rating: 5/10*

Made his first appearance of the season but had little time to make an impact.
