Mohamed Salah’s agent has been seen in private discussions with a new club about the possibility of Salah leaving Anfield in the January transfer window.

The next few months are pivotal for both Arne Slot and Liverpool, as the club must balance maintaining its strong form on the field with resolving key contract issues. Central to this challenge are the futures of three of Liverpool’s top players: Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold. All three have been critical to the team’s achievements under Jurgen Klopp, and their potential departure at the end of the season could significantly alter the team’s dynamics.

Salah, with his remarkable goal-scoring ability, has been one of Liverpool’s most influential forwards, while van Dijk’s leadership and strength at the back have anchored the defense. Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold’s pinpoint passing and playmaking from right-back have been crucial to Liverpool’s attack. Together, they form a core that has driven Liverpool’s success in recent years. As their contracts approach crucial stages, the club’s board is tasked with managing these negotiations delicately to avoid losing any of these key players.

Among these stars, Salah’s future is currently the most uncertain. Reports suggest that discussions have already begun regarding a possible move away from Liverpool. According to sources from CaughtOffside, Al-Ahli, a Saudi Pro League club, is actively in talks to sign the Egyptian forward. Although Salah’s preference seems to be staying at Anfield, he hasn’t entirely dismissed the idea of transferring to a club in the Middle East, particularly if negotiations with Liverpool stall.

Al-Ahli is not only targeting Salah but is also interested in signing Virgil van Dijk. Their proposal is reportedly centered around offering both players a three-year contract with an option for a fourth, depending on mutual agreement. This interest from Saudi clubs underscores the increasing appeal of the Saudi Pro League, which has already attracted several big names from European football.

If Liverpool cannot secure new contracts with these players, both Salah and van Dijk are said to be open to considering a move to Saudi Arabia. Additionally, other clubs in the Saudi Pro League, including Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad, are closely monitoring Salah’s situation, indicating a strong interest from multiple clubs to bring him to their league.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is also rumored to be tracking Salah’s availability. This option could allow Salah to remain in European football at a competitive level, keeping him in the spotlight of elite European competition. As the situation unfolds, Liverpool’s management will need to navigate these negotiations carefully to retain their star players and maintain the stability of the team heading into the future.
