“Didier Drogba, Chelsea legend, predicts Arsenal will humiliate Manchester United in tomorrow’s clash, whether they accept the result or not.”

Paul Merson, the Sky Sports pundit, has confidently predicted the outcome of Manchester United’s upcoming Premier League clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. The match is set for Wednesday, with kick-off scheduled at 8:15 pm UK time. Manchester United, now under the guidance of manager Ruben Amorim, face a stern test as they take on a high-flying Arsenal side.

Amorim, who took over from Erik ten Hag in November after leaving Sporting CP, has had a mixed start to his tenure at Old Trafford. His reign began with a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town at Portman Road following the international break. This was followed by an impressive 3-2 comeback win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League and a dominant 4-0 victory over Everton in the Premier League last Sunday.

Currently, United sit ninth in the Premier League table, trailing the top four by four points. Meanwhile, Arsenal are enjoying a strong season, occupying second place, though they are nine points behind league leaders Liverpool. Despite the positive momentum United have built under Amorim, the team faces challenges heading into the Arsenal clash. Key players Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez will both miss the game due to suspensions incurred in the Everton match.

Interestingly, Merson believes Martinez’s absence might work in Amorim’s favor. In his column for *Sportskeeda*, the former Arsenal midfielder suggested that Harry Maguire could step into the defensive setup. According to Merson, Maguire’s physical presence and aerial prowess could be crucial against Arsenal, who have been particularly effective from set-pieces this season.

“Arsenal’s set-piece success is no accident,” Merson wrote. “But with Lisandro Martinez out, Harry Maguire could come in. His height and ability to defend set-pieces make him a key asset in these situations.”

Despite this potential advantage for Manchester United, Merson remains firm in his belief that Arsenal will secure a decisive victory. He praised the Gunners’ impressive form under Mikel Arteta, noting their players’ strong understanding of the team’s system and their fluid style of play. On the other hand, he pointed out that United are still adapting to Amorim’s tactics, which could leave them vulnerable against such an in-form opponent.

Merson predicted a 3-0 win for Arsenal, highlighting their confidence and cohesion as decisive factors. “Arsenal are in full flow,” he stated. “While United are still finding their feet under Amorim, I can’t see anything but a convincing Arsenal win. I’ll keep the scoreline kind, though.”
