Latest Transfer Updates for Manchester United

    adminBy adminMay 3, 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

Manchester United winger Antony has been drawing significant interest following an impressive loan spell at Spanish club Real Betis. Since making the temporary switch, the Brazilian forward has managed to find the net six times and provided four assists across 19 appearances. His lively performances and creative contributions have not gone unnoticed, with Atletico Madrid now expressing serious interest in securing his services on a more permanent basis.

Sources close to the situation reveal that Atletico Madrid have already made contact regarding a potential transfer, exploring the possibility of bringing Antony to the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in the upcoming transfer window. Manchester United, who still hold the player’s rights, are expected to demand a transfer fee in the range of €40 to €50 million, which translates to approximately £34 to £43 million.

Despite Antony’s standout form and clear impact on Betis’ attacking play, the La Liga side is unlikely to pursue a permanent deal. The primary obstacle lies in the financial demands tied to the player’s salary. Antony’s wages are reportedly beyond what Betis can afford, making it improbable for them to retain him after the loan expires, despite the positive influence he’s had on the squad.

Meanwhile, regarding defensive reinforcements, there has been speculation linking Manchester United to Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Jonathan Tah. However, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has stated that there are currently no active negotiations taking place between the English club and Leverkusen over the German defender. Tah is indeed having a strong season in the Bundesliga and remains a player on the radar of several European clubs due to his consistent form and experience at both club and international level.

Although Manchester United are expected to strengthen their defense during the summer transfer window, especially after a season plagued by injuries and inconsistent performances at the back, Jonathan Tah is not among the players they are currently pursuing. That said, he is still viewed as someone worth monitoring, and circumstances could change depending on availability, price, or developments in United’s defensive targets list.
