Mohamed Salah Breaks Down in Tears After Club Terminates Teammate’s Contract Following Champions League Blunder

    adminBy adminMay 26, 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Xavi Simons’ future continues to be a topic of significant speculation as the 22-year-old Dutch midfielder attracts growing interest from several top-tier European clubs. After an impressive season with RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, Simons has emerged as one of the most sought-after young talents on the continent.

Among the clubs showing serious interest, Liverpool appears to be preparing a concrete move to secure Simons’ services. According to a report from *Caught Offside*, the Reds are currently discussing a formal offer to bring the midfielder to Anfield. Liverpool’s management reportedly views Simons as a possible successor to Luis Diaz, whose future at the club is uncertain. New Liverpool manager Arne Slot is believed to be open to the idea of Diaz leaving during the upcoming summer transfer window, and Simons is considered a strong candidate to fill the void.

Diaz himself has been linked with a move to Barcelona, a development that could further pave the way for Simons’ potential arrival in Merseyside. Barcelona have made no secret of their admiration for Diaz, but the club’s ongoing financial limitations may restrict their ability to make high-profile signings. Despite Simons’ previous connection with Barcelona—he is a product of the club’s famed La Masia academy—a return to Camp Nou this summer seems unlikely due to those financial hurdles.

Liverpool are not alone in the race, as competition for Simons is intensifying. Other major clubs, including Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Manchester United, are all closely monitoring his situation. Leipzig, while open to selling the player, have set a firm asking price of €70 million. The Bundesliga side is reportedly looking to balance their finances and is prepared to offload Simons if their valuation is met.

The Premier League currently appears to be the most likely destination, with English clubs leading the pursuit. Manchester City, in particular, are said to be keeping a close eye on developments. A potential contract for Simons could span five years and include an annual salary of €10 million, along with a substantial signing bonus.

As negotiations continue and interest builds, the coming weeks are expected to be pivotal in shaping Simons’ next move. With his blend of technical skill, vision, and versatility, Simons is widely regarded as a player capable of making a major impact wherever he lands. Former Leipzig boss Marco Rose once labeled him a “difference-maker,” highlighting the level of talent that has Europe’s biggest clubs competing for his signature.
