Breaking: Kroenke Slams Arsenal’s £4M Striker Sale, Labels It a Huge Blunder

    adminBy adminSeptember 23, 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Arsenal’s leadership finds itself in a storm of controversy after billionaire owner Stan Kroenke openly voiced his frustration with manager Mikel Arteta regarding what is now being described as one of the club’s gravest transfer errors in recent memory. At the center of the uproar is a striker the Gunners sold back in 2022 for a meager £4 million, a decision that has now returned to haunt the North London side. Since leaving the Emirates, the forward has blossomed into a world-class goalscorer, astonishing football fans across Europe with a phenomenal return of 37 goals in just 22 games this season.

The regret deepened for Arsenal supporters when, only last week, the same striker put on a dazzling display, firing a hat-trick in little over an hour. That explosive performance left many baffled as to how the club’s management allowed such a lethal talent to slip through their fingers for what now seems like pocket change. Kroenke, who rarely speaks so openly about Arsenal’s internal matters, admitted in blunt terms that the club made a reckless miscalculation. He even went as far as comparing the departed striker’s qualities to a hybrid of Erling Haaland’s power and Harry Kane’s intelligence, a combination that any top side would desperately crave.

To make matters worse, Kroenke contrasted the player’s current success with Arsenal’s own big-money signing Victor Gyökeres. Brought in for £65 million with hopes of being the missing piece in attack, Gyökeres has yet to replicate the same ruthless edge, struggling for consistency in big moments. This stark difference in output has only intensified the frustration around the boardroom and among fans alike.

Unsurprisingly, the Arsenal faithful have been vocal on social media. Many have branded the 2022 sale as “criminal,” accusing Arteta of lacking foresight and vision. The comparisons with Haaland have poured salt in the wound, as supporters argue that Arsenal let go of a player who might have finally solved their long-standing issue of converting chances in crucial matches.

The footballing world has also weighed in, with pundits describing the situation as nothing short of embarrassing. For a club with ambitions of ending its long title drought, losing such a striker for a fraction of his true value is seen as an alarming misstep. With rivals Manchester City and Liverpool pushing relentlessly in the Premier League title race, Kroenke now fears Arsenal’s failure to secure a truly clinical finisher could be the decisive factor in another season of near misses.

The American owner’s message could not have been clearer: Arsenal must explore every possible option to bring the striker back in the upcoming January transfer window if they are genuinely serious about lifting the Premier League trophy. Whether such a sensational homecoming is realistic remains to be seen, but the shadow of regret already looms large. What was once seen as a routine transfer now threatens to stand as one of the most damaging mistakes of Arteta’s tenure—a decision that could haunt both the manager and the club for years to come.
