Arsenal’s 26-year-old star player, Gabriel Jesus, has openly acknowledged that he was exhausted after the recent game against Sevilla. Despite delivering an impressive assist and a goal, he was substituted in the 81st minute due to what appeared to be a hamstring issue. Jesus expressed his tiredness but also conveyed his respect for manager Mikel Arteta’s decision to substitute him.

In his own words, Jesus said, “Well, let’s see. Yeah, I was tired to be honest, but I never want to go out. Obviously, you always respect what the manager decides, but [that] was not the case; it was unlucky, unfortunately. But let’s see what it is.”

Arsenal fans anxiously await updates on Jesus’s condition, considering his significance to the team. Following a disappointing display against Chelsea, there was speculation among fans that Arteta might need to acquire a new striker, with rumors linking the club to Dusan Vlahovic in the January transfer window. However, Jesus’s performance against Sevilla could temporarily silence those rumors.

Arteta may have mixed feelings about the match against Sevilla due to Jesus’s injury. Still, the striker himself believes the issue is likely minor, giving hope that he could be ready for the upcoming game against Sheffield United. Some, like Ian Wright, have praised Takehiro Tomiyasu for his performance in Spain and suggest he deserves a starting role in the team. Tomiyasu’s solid defensive display provided a platform for players like Jesus to shine in the attack.

In addition to Gabriel Jesus, other Arsenal players had outstanding performances. Gabriel Martinelli impressed with his contributions both in attack and defense, earning recognition from Declan Rice for his world-class showing.

Overall, it was a positive night for Arsenal, but the concern now revolves around Gabriel Jesus’s fitness, with the club and its fans hoping for a swift recovery.
