Unfortunate News: Kevin De Bruyne Departs Manchester City for a Saudi Arabian Club

    adminBy adminNovember 8, 2023No Comments2 Mins Read

Manchester City has reportedly revealed their asking price for midfielder Kevin De Bruyne following interest from the Saudi Pro League. Al Nassr, a club in the Saudi Pro League, is eyeing De Bruyne for a potential move next summer, hoping to lure the City legend away from European football.

If De Bruyne decides to transition to the Saudi Pro League and join forces with Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane, it would also lead to a reunion with his former Manchester City teammate Aymeric Laporte, who recently joined the club.

During the previous summer, De Bruyne chose to stay at City and turned down advances from Saudi Arabia. However, the 2023/24 season has not gone according to plan for the 32-year-old due to a hamstring injury he sustained on the opening day against Burnley, which has kept him sidelined.

Reports now indicate that Manchester City is open to considering offers for the Belgian midfielder before his contract expires in the summer of 2025. They have set an asking price of £60 million, despite De Bruyne’s reputation as one of the world’s top players when he is fit.

This valuation is unlikely to be a problem for the Saudi Pro League, particularly as predictions suggest that the 2024 summer transfer window could be one of the largest spending periods in history.

De Bruyne’s potential departure next summer would mark the end of his remarkable nine-year journey at Manchester City, where he has established himself as one of the Premier League’s all-time midfield greats.

His time at the club, under the management of Pep Guardiola, has resulted in an impressive collection of 14 trophies, including five Premier League titles and one Champions League victory. De Bruyne’s signing from Wolfsburg in 2015 for a reported club-record fee of £54 million, despite initial criticism from pundits, has unquestionably proven to be a shrewd investment.
