Chelsea, grappling with scoring challenges this season, is reportedly considering loan moves for Karim Benzema and ex-Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino. Struggling to find the net, Chelsea’s pursuit of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen as a top striker target in 2024 faces financial obstacles. Consequently, the club is exploring alternatives, with recent reports suggesting interest in Benzema and Firmino.

The Telegraph reveals Chelsea’s focus on Saudi Arabia, where both players are rumored to be contemplating a return to Europe. Benzema, who recently joined Al Ittihad, is reportedly absent from training after being granted time off. Manager Marcelo Gallardo has excluded him from the first-team squad, and with uncertainty surrounding his future in Saudi Arabia, Chelsea eyes him as a potential solution. Despite scoring 12 goals in 20 appearances for Al Ittihad, Benzema’s situation adds to Chelsea’s urgency.

Similarly, Firmino, a former Liverpool striker, is contemplating a return to European football. Chelsea’s interest in these loan moves underscores their pressing need to address scoring issues and bolster attacking options in the current campaign. Marca reports amplify Benzema’s uncertain status at Al Ittihad, while Firmino’s potential return to Europe adds intrigue to Chelsea’s pursuit.

While Victor Osimhen remains a primary target, financial constraints may render the Nigerian international too expensive this month. Hence, Chelsea explores the availability of Benzema and Firmino, aligning with their immediate need for offensive reinforcements. As the transfer window unfolds, the Blues weigh their options to fortify their squad and reignite their goal-scoring prowess.
