Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez alleges that his Argentine teammate consistently becomes overly confident whenever facing the Blues, stating, “I don’t know what he has against us; he is always full of himself.”

Enzo Fernandez perceives Emiliano Martinez as excessively confident when facing Chelsea, labeling the former Arsenal goalkeeper as “cocky.” Their upcoming clash in the fourth round of the FA Cup at Stamford Bridge adds an extra layer of excitement for Fernandez, who shared his sentiments in an ESPN interview. According to Fernandez, Martinez’s attitude against Chelsea has consistently been characterized by overconfidence.

The Chelsea midfielder also touched upon a rule change in penalty shootouts that prevents goalkeepers from intimidating their opponents. Though not delving deeply into the details, Fernandez considers it a football legend, indifferent to its veracity. He jokingly expresses the intensity of Martinez’s demeanor, stating that facing him as an opponent might make you want to “kill him” due to his unpleasant and, in his words, “insane” behavior.

In an additional reading snippet, Martinez reciprocates Fernandez’s sentiments, expressing nothing but love for the Chelsea player. In an interview with TyC Sports, Martinez praised Fernandez, highlighting his maturity and performance as crucial factors in Argentina’s 2022 FIFA World Cup victory. He commended Fernandez’s audacity, emphasizing how the Chelsea player’s impact was akin to someone with 350 international games.

Despite individual brilliance, the Fernandez-led Chelsea team has struggled to find rhythm in the current season, currently sitting in 9th place after 21 games, a slight improvement from their 12th-place finish in the previous year.
