Erik ten Hag discusses Marcus Rashford’s return to scoring form in the recent game.

Erik ten Hag shared his thoughts on Marcus Rashford’s return to Manchester United’s starting lineup and the team’s overall performance in a thrilling 4-3 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Last week, Rashford was absent from United’s 4-2 win against Newport County due to an “internal disciplinary matter.” The player’s presence in Belfast sparked scrutiny, leading to a United statement confirming internal resolution.

Returning against Wolves, Rashford made an impact with a goal on his third touch. Ten Hag praised the team effort, saying, “It was a fantastic team goal; we’ve scored more like that. Many players were involved, a great goal.”

Highlighting Rashford’s form, Ten Hag noted, “In the last games, he has three goals and two assists, so the form is coming.”

Kobbie Mainoo’s 97th-minute wonder goal secured the 4-3 victory, earning praise from Ten Hag for his progress and versatile skills. The manager said, “He is the modern midfield player. He can attack and defend, with intelligence, physicality, and composure.”

Despite individual successes, Ten Hag had mixed feelings about the team’s overall performance. Acknowledging excitement for neutrals, he admitted, “For a manager, when you dominate for an hour and should be three or four up, conceding goals the way we did, we should manage it better; it cannot happen.”

Ten Hag’s reflections underscored the contrasting emotions of witnessing thrilling moments and identifying areas needing improvement. The victory prompted a critical assessment of defensive lapses and the need for more effective management in certain situations.
