After Chelsea’s defeat against Wolves, Cole Palmer, the Chelsea standout, was spotted at a concert enjoying a beverage.

In Sunday’s 4-2 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Chelsea’s forward, Cole Palmer, marked a notable achievement by breaking a club record. Since his summer transfer from Manchester City, the 21-year-old England international has become a pivotal figure for Chelsea, making 19 Premier League appearances, with 15 starts, including the recent clash against Wolves at Stamford Bridge.

Palmer demonstrated his impact early in the game, scoring in the 19th minute with a goal that marked his third consecutive home goal in all competitions. Employing his weaker right foot, Palmer connected with Moises Caicedo’s precise pass, not only giving Mauricio Pochettino’s team the lead but also setting a new club record with his eleventh league goal for the 2023–24 season.

The young forward further etched his name in Premier League history by becoming the first player aged 21 or younger to score ten or more goals in a single season. Despite Palmer’s individual accomplishment, Wolves turned the tide, securing three points in West London. A blocked attempt by Palmer in the 22nd minute and an own goal by Axel Disasi contributed to Chelsea trailing at halftime.

Wolves’ Matheus Cunha completed a hat-trick in the second half, sealing their victory despite a late goal by Chelsea’s Thiago Silva. Unfortunately, this defeat compounds Chelsea’s recent struggles, having now lost four consecutive league games under manager Rafael Benítez, following a 4-1 loss to Liverpool. This downturn in form places Chelsea in the bottom half of the Premier League standings, while Wolves has climbed to the 10th position.

Chelsea’s recent string of defeats mirrors their earlier setbacks against Newcastle United and Manchester City in November, where they conceded four goals in successive matches. The team’s challenges under Benítez raise questions about their performance and position in the fiercely competitive Premier League.
