While there are speculations linking Mourinho to a potential return to the Premier League with Chelsea or Newcastle United, these moves are considered improbable at this point, and no official confirmations have been made. Chelsea’s ownership seems inclined to be patient with current head coach Mauricio Pochettino, despite fan criticism. Newcastle, facing challenges under manager Eddie Howe due to squad injuries, also appears willing to give him more time.
Mourinho has previously shown interest in managing in Saudi Arabia, and there is speculation that he could receive offers from the Saudi Pro League by summer if he remains unattached. Although Al Hilal had previously offered a lucrative contract, they are currently performing well under their current manager.
Al Ahli and Al Nassr, the latter being Cristiano Ronaldo’s team, might consider Mourinho for managerial positions.
International management is another potential avenue for Mourinho. With several vacancies expected after Euro 2024 and the Copa America, leading up to the 2026 World Cup, he could explore this option. There are reports suggesting that Mourinho is open to managing the England national team if Gareth Southgate departs after the Euros, though Southgate has expressed his desire to continue in his role.
