Louis Saha has weighed in on the situation of Arda Güler, the 19-year-old Turkish attacking midfielder who joined Real Madrid in July, suggesting that a move to Manchester United could be pivotal for his development. Güler has struggled for consistent playing time at Real Madrid, featuring in just 12 matches across all competitions this season without registering a goal or an assist. Despite this limited impact, Real Madrid remains confident in his immense potential and considers him a critical part of their long-term plans.
Saha, however, believes that the intense competition for places at Real Madrid is hindering Güler’s growth. Speaking to the *Manchester Evening News*, the former striker argued that Manchester United, under Ruben Amorim’s leadership, could provide the young talent with an environment where he can develop more effectively. Saha pointed out that consistent game time is crucial for unlocking Güler’s potential, a challenge that has proven difficult in Madrid due to their star-studded squad.
The Frenchman emphasized that United’s current midfield setup lacks a creative playmaker who can bring dynamism and decisive passing. Güler, with his natural flair and playmaking abilities, could fill this void, complementing key players like Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Højlund. Saha suggested that a loan deal would be the best route for Güler at this stage, allowing him to gain the minutes he needs while continuing to refine his game.
Güler’s performances during Euro 2024 have already showcased his talent, earning him admiration across Europe. However, Real Madrid’s faith in the youngster could make a permanent move to Manchester United—or any other club—difficult. Despite his limited role this season, the Spanish giants are unwilling to part with a player they view as a future cornerstone of their squad.
Even so, Manchester United is not the only Premier League club reportedly eyeing Güler. Rivals such as Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City have also been linked with the talented midfielder, reflecting his growing reputation. Before his transfer to Real Madrid, Güler was a target for clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, underscoring the widespread recognition of his abilities.
While a permanent transfer may be out of reach, a loan move appears to be a realistic solution. Such a deal could allow Real Madrid to retain their young prospect while giving him the game time needed to accelerate his development. For Manchester United, securing Güler would bring much-needed creativity to their midfield and enhance their attacking capabilities, making him a valuable addition to the squad.
