A Saudi Arabian Club Acquires Manchester City Star Player for a Staggering £200 Million as Soon as the Transfer Window Opens.

In response to speculation surrounding Kevin De Bruyne’s potential departure from Manchester City in 2024, The Athletic journalist David Ornstein shared insights on the situation. Addressing rumors of a move to a Saudi Arabian club, particularly Al Nassr, Ornstein deemed such a scenario “very unlikely” during a Q&A session on The Athletic.

Recent reports hinted at the possibility of Manchester City considering the sale of De Bruyne at the end of the current season. Despite the club’s successful 2020-2021 season, including winning the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and FA Cup, factors such as De Bruyne’s age (32) and injury concerns fueled speculation. City is reportedly exploring replacements for the midfielder, whose contract expires in the summer of 2025.

A November 6 report by Teamtalk brought attention to the potential departure, prompting questions during The Athletic’s Q&A session. James H inquired about the likelihood of De Bruyne joining a Saudi Arabian club in 2024, to which Ornstein expressed a view of it being “very unlikely.”

Ornstein’s article advocates for Manchester City retaining De Bruyne beyond the summer of 2024. Despite acknowledging the potential for enticing offers, the author argues against actively offloading the Belgian player. Despite recent injury challenges and entering his early 30s, De Bruyne is recognized as a valuable player, especially in crucial matches.

The author contends that while City is currently performing well without De Bruyne, the team is undeniably stronger with him. Emphasizing De Bruyne’s experience and leadership qualities, the article advocates for a measured approach rather than a rushed decision to sell him. Ultimately, it suggests that retaining De Bruyne would contribute to the team’s strength and success in the long run.
