Arsenal Legend Thierry Henry Advises Arteta to Abandon Toney Pursuit and Secure £60M Goal Scorer with Haaland-like Talent

Former footballer Thierry Henry recently shared insights into potential transfer targets for Arsenal, suggesting the pursuit of Brentford striker Ivan Toney. However, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta faces challenges, particularly with Gabriel Jesus’s recent injury, prompting the exploration of alternatives.

The setback has intensified Arsenal’s search for attacking reinforcements, leading to speculation about acquiring Toney for the Emirates Stadium. Despite Brentford manager Thomas Frank’s determination to retain Toney, talkSPORT pundit Alan Brazil proposed a fallback option: targeting a £60 million Premier League striker.

During a talkSPORT breakfast show with Ally McCoist, Brazil shifted focus to Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Pointing out the overturned red card against Crystal Palace, Brazil raised the question of Arsenal pursuing Calvert-Lewin if the Toney deal falls through. While acknowledging Calvert-Lewin’s goal-scoring potential, Brazil expressed concerns about his ongoing injury issues.

The prospect of acquiring Calvert-Lewin poses a dilemma for Arsenal, necessitating assurances about the striker’s ability to consistently contribute before investing £60 million. Brazil argued that pursuing Toney could be a strategic move for Arsenal, highlighting the former Newcastle United striker’s experience and ability to handle consistent goal-scoring responsibilities.

Ultimately, the decision between Toney and Calvert-Lewin revolves around Arsenal finding a balance between potential risks and rewards to address their urgent attacking needs.
