Arsenal Manager Arteta Unveils Five Contingency Plans to Fill Saka’s Shoes Amidst Injury Worries for Bournemouth Match

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta faces a significant challenge as star winger Bukayo Saka is struggling with an injury, potentially sidelining him for an upcoming Premier League match against Bournemouth. Saka’s absence would break a club-record streak of 86 consecutive Premier League appearances. Arteta is considering five surprising alternatives to replace Saka and maintain Arsenal’s competitive edge.

Firstly, Fabio Vieira, despite a challenging start in English football, has shown promise this season and could play on the right, adhering to Arteta’s inverted style preference. However, Vieira’s recent absence from the squad adds uncertainty to his availability.

Next, Reiss Nelson, who scored a crucial goal against Brentford, is pushing for a starting position. While traditionally performing well on the left, he may need to adapt to a right-wing role, potentially altering Arsenal’s attacking approach.

Gabriel Jesus, primarily a central striker, could switch to the left-wing position, allowing Nelson or Emile Smith Rowe to fill the opposite flank. Jesus’s experience on the wider position during his Manchester City days makes him a viable alternative.

Kai Havertz, versatile across the frontline and attacking midfield, remains an option with his left-footed playstyle resembling Saka’s. However, at 6ft 4ins, Havertz presents a different winger style compared to the England star.

Lastly, Charles Sagoe Jr, a 19-year-old academy prospect, made a surprising full debut in a recent match. While a Premier League start might be premature, he could provide a valuable option from the bench.

In this crucial situation, Arteta must carefully evaluate these alternatives, considering their strengths, adaptability, and the team’s overall strategy. The decision will impact Arsenal’s gameplay and potentially influence the outcome of the match against Bournemouth.
