BREAKING: Benjamin Šeško Blasts Ruben Amorim Following Manchester United’s Crushing Derby Defeat to Man City

Tensions reached boiling point at Old Trafford in the aftermath of the Manchester Derby, as Manchester United’s dressing room reportedly erupted with anger and frustration following their humiliating defeat to arch-rivals Manchester City. Emotions were already raw after the crushing 3-0 loss, but matters escalated further when United striker Benjamin Šeško is said to have directed a fierce tirade at manager Ruben Amorim, blaming him outright for the tactical disaster.

According to reports, Šeško’s frustration was impossible to contain. In his post-match outburst, he accused Amorim of completely mishandling the game and ignoring his repeated requests regarding team selection. The Slovenian striker made it clear that he had urged the manager to include young star Kobbie Mainoo in the starting XI, arguing that their budding partnership on the pitch had already shown signs of real promise. Instead, Amorim opted to leave Mainoo on the bench, a decision Šeško believes cost United dearly.

“This defeat rests solely on him,” Šeško allegedly fumed in front of teammates and media. “I told him clearly—play Mainoo alongside me because we’ve developed an understanding that works. But he refused to listen. Honestly, I’m starting to regret my decision to come to Manchester United if this is how things will continue. How can you have a player like Mainoo, full of energy, creativity, and fight, and still decide to sideline him? It makes no sense at all. Decisions like this are tearing the team apart.”

His comments have poured fuel onto an already raging fire, with fans quickly latching onto the controversy. Supporters on social media were equally baffled and furious about Amorim’s team selection. One angry fan wrote: “Benching Mainoo against City is unforgivable—he’s the heartbeat of this squad.” Another added: “Amorim bottled it. Mainoo is not just the present, he’s the future, and leaving him out in a derby is absolute madness.”

The fallout from this derby defeat is now being described as one of the lowest points of United’s turbulent season. While City’s dominance was clear on the pitch, it is the collapse of unity within the dressing room that has alarmed critics and fans alike. Questions are being raised over Amorim’s tactical judgment, his man-management, and whether he truly understands the squad’s strengths. The perception is growing that his stubborn refusal to adapt could alienate both his players and the supporters who were once hopeful of his appointment.

As the pressure mounts, the uncertainty surrounding Amorim’s future intensifies. The key question now is whether he can steady the ship, regain trust within the squad, and win back the faith of the fans—or whether the immense pressure of managing at Old Trafford is already proving too much for him to handle.
