Caoimhin Kelleher set to leave Liverpool! ❌️ After years as a reliable backup at Anfield, the talented goalkeeper is ready for the next big move in his career. With Alisson cemented as the number one and a new goalkeeper arriving this summer, Kelleher has chosen to seek regular first-team action elsewhere.

Chelsea are reportedly keeping a close eye on Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher as they weigh up a potential transfer move. However, according to *talkSPORT*, Bournemouth appear to be leading the race to secure the Republic of Ireland international’s signature.

Kelleher has served as a reliable backup at Anfield but has struggled to secure a regular starting spot. With Alisson Becker firmly established as Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper and Giorgi Mamardashvili expected to arrive next season, Kelleher’s chances of stepping up remain slim. As a result, a move away from Merseyside appears to be the most logical step for his career.

Chelsea could benefit from bringing in Kelleher, as he would likely offer an improvement over their current first-choice keeper, Robert Sanchez, who has struggled with inconsistency. However, despite Chelsea’s interest, Bournemouth currently seem to be the frontrunners in the pursuit of the 26-year-old shot-stopper.

Kelleher is regarded as a highly talented goalkeeper and could serve as a strong first-choice option for several Premier League sides. Having spent years attempting to break into Liverpool’s starting XI without success, he will undoubtedly be eager to establish himself as a regular starter elsewhere. Bournemouth, a club that has been showing steady progress in the Premier League, could present an appealing opportunity for him. Additionally, Liverpool might be hesitant to strengthen a direct rival like Chelsea, which could work in Bournemouth’s favor.

While some Liverpool supporters may feel disappointed at the prospect of Kelleher leaving, his desire for regular playing time is understandable. At 26 years old, he is entering the prime years of his career and will want to make the most of them by playing consistently at the highest level. A move to Bournemouth could provide him with that platform, allowing him to develop further and showcase his abilities as a starting goalkeeper.

If Chelsea fail to land Kelleher, they will need to explore alternative options, as relying on Sanchez as their first-choice goalkeeper for another season could prove costly. Another potential target for the Blues is Filip Jorgensen, though the young goalkeeper has yet to fully convince under incoming manager Enzo Maresca when given the chance.

With the summer transfer window approaching, it will be interesting to see where Kelleher ends up. While Chelsea could still make a late push for his signature, Bournemouth remain in pole position, and unless Liverpool change their stance on selling to a direct competitor, the south-coast club could be Kelleher’s most likely destination.
