    Declan Rice turned down Manchester City transfer in favor of Arsenal, repeating a trend set last summer.

    As he turns seventeen on March 21st, the promising 16-year-old talent is on the verge of signing a significant professional contract with a London-based club, marking a pivotal moment in his burgeoning career.

     

    In the upcoming two weeks, the current scholarship agreement of Nwaneri, which had sparked intense competition among several Premier League clubs, is set to evolve into a full-fledged professional contract. Chelsea and Manchester City have shown interest, with the latter presenting a substantial offer in their pursuit of the skilled attacking midfielder.

     

    Born in 2007, the player is poised to make history with Arsenal, reportedly being offered the highest wage ever bestowed upon an academy player by the club. Since joining the academy ranks in 2016, under the guidance of manager Mikel Arteta and the club’s leadership, Nwaneri has gained widespread acclaim for his remarkable development. Last season, at 15 years and 181 days old, he became the youngest-ever Premier League player, making his debut for Arsenal in a 3-0 victory over Brentford.

     

    In the current campaign, the English-Nigerian prodigy has been a consistent presence in the senior matchday squad, making six appearances across various competitions. Notably, in Arsenal’s 6-0 win against West Ham United, he showcased his talent as a second-half substitute.

     

    Across 13 appearances in both the under-19 and under-21 teams, Nwaneri has displayed versatility and prowess, contributing three assists and an impressive tally of 13 goals.

     

    The prospect of him extending his tenure with the Gunners is sure to please the club’s faithful supporters, who passionately advocate for his continued involvement in the first team.
