DEVASTATING BLOW: Liverpool forward suffers injury during training session.

    adminBy adminFebruary 5, 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Liverpool seem to have received some positive news on the injury front, with reports indicating that Trent Alexander-Arnold’s thigh issue is not a major concern. The vice-captain will need a short period of treatment, and his recovery is expected to be swift. However, he is still likely to miss the return leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Tottenham at Anfield on Thursday. The club is expected to take a careful approach to his rehabilitation to ensure he does not aggravate the injury.

In Alexander-Arnold’s absence, young full-back Conor Bradley is expected to step in, giving Liverpool a reliable alternative in the right-back position. With the rest of the squad in good health, the team remains well-equipped to compete and push for a comeback in the cup tie.

Meanwhile, Scottish winger Ben Doak has suffered a setback while training with Middlesbrough, temporarily halting what has been an impressive loan spell in the Championship. The 19-year-old has been in fine form this season, contributing significantly to his team’s attacking play. Across 24 league appearances, he has managed to register three goals and seven assists, helping Middlesbrough stay competitive in the race for a playoff spot.

Doak is set to return to Liverpool at the end of the season, and according to The Athletic, he is being considered for a place in Arne Slot’s first-team plans for the next campaign. His performances in the Championship have caught the attention of Liverpool’s coaching staff, and he could be in line for a more prominent role upon his return to Anfield.

Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick provided an update on Doak’s injury situation ahead of their upcoming fixture against Sheffield United. While the setback is frustrating, Carrick reassured fans that the injury is not expected to be a long-term issue. He explained that the young winger felt discomfort in his thigh during training and will need some time to recover. However, the injury is likely to sideline him for a number of weeks rather than just a few days, though it is not expected to keep him out for an extended period.

Carrick’s side is currently just outside the playoff positions, trailing sixth-placed West Brom on goal difference with 16 games remaining in the Championship season. The loss of Doak, even for a few weeks, is an unfortunate blow as Middlesbrough looks to secure a place in the promotion playoffs.

Overall, while both Alexander-Arnold and Doak have suffered injuries, neither situation appears to be a major cause for concern. Liverpool will monitor Alexander-Arnold closely and ensure he recovers fully before returning to action, while Doak’s time on the sidelines is expected to be relatively short.
