Ex-Tottenham midfielder and English international Harry Kane is poised for a surprising comeback to join a Premier League club.

Chelsea is reportedly considering a surprise move for Harry Kane, who left Tottenham Hotspur as their record goalscorer for Bayern Munich in a £82 million deal last summer. Despite Kane’s impressive 28 goals in 29 appearances for Bayern, the team faces challenges, having suffered defeats to Saarbrucken in the DFB Pokal and Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

The recent 3-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen, coupled with an eight-point gap to Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea, has raised concerns about Bayern’s bid for an 12th consecutive Bundesliga title. Additionally, a disappointing 1-0 loss to Lazio in the Champions League further intensified scrutiny, with Kane receiving a poor match rating from German outlet BILD.

According to Wayne Veysey of Football Insider, Chelsea is closely monitoring Kane’s situation at Bayern. There are purported “whispers” that Kane is not entirely content at the Allianz Arena, prompting Chelsea’s interest. Despite being in Munich for a short period, Chelsea hopes Kane’s desire to return to the Premier League aligns with their vision for a prolific goal scorer who can contribute significantly to their young team.

Chelsea is allegedly willing to match Bayern’s initial expenditure to secure Kane, recognizing his prowess under Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs. Kane, however, remains optimistic about Bayern’s prospects, acknowledging the need for the team to regroup. In an interview, he emphasized the ongoing challenges in both the Champions League and Bundesliga races, expressing determination to overcome the tough period.

In the face of Bayern’s recent setbacks, Kane remains grounded, stating, “We won’t give up; we’re not done yet.” He believes that a turnaround is possible through collective effort, highlighting the potential impact of a single game or a spark to change their fortunes.
