Fans Urge Liverpool to Retain Player, Warning That Spanish Club Won’t Utilize Him Fully, as Star Agrees to 5-Year Deal After Fabio Carvalho Transfer.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Brentford has finalized an agreement with Liverpool to acquire Fabio Carvalho. This move comes amid a quiet transfer window at Liverpool under new manager Arne Slot, who has yet to make any new signings. The club, however, is actively pursuing Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

Despite a promising performance during Liverpool’s pre-season tour in the United States, Carvalho is set to leave the club. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder, who joined Liverpool from Fulham in 2022 for £5 million, has had loan spells with RB Leipzig and Hull City over the past season. During his time at Hull, Carvalho scored nine goals, demonstrating his potential. Now, he is on the verge of starting a new chapter with Brentford in London.

Carvalho had attracted interest from other clubs, including newly promoted Southampton and Leicester City. However, Romano has confirmed that Brentford is the destination for Carvalho. According to Romano’s announcement on X.com, the deal for Carvalho to join Brentford is imminent: “Fabio Carvalho to Brentford, here we go! Liverpool is selling Carvalho on a permanent deal.”

The transfer fee for Carvalho is reported to be £20 million, plus additional add-ons that could bring the total value to around £27.5 million. Liverpool is expected to receive £20 million as a fixed fee, with the possibility of an additional £7.5 million in performance-related bonuses. Additionally, Liverpool will retain a 17.5% sell-on clause, which could provide further financial benefits if Carvalho is sold in the future. Fulham, Carvalho’s former club, is also set to benefit financially from the deal, as they had secured a 20% sell-on clause when Carvalho was sold to Liverpool.

Carvalho’s time at Liverpool saw him make just 21 appearances and score three goals. As he prepares to join Brentford, he is expected to play a crucial role in the final third of the pitch for a team that finished 16th in the Premier League last season. This move signifies a significant opportunity for Carvalho to make a substantial impact at his new club, and it also reflects Liverpool’s strategic adjustments as they aim to strengthen their squad with the funds from this sale.
