Arsenal’s manager expressed gratitude towards West Ham and his players, emphasizing the disheartening outcome despite their significant efforts. Reflecting on the match, he acknowledged West Ham’s outperformance in crucial categories, highlighting their efficiency with two shots and a penalty compared to Arsenal’s numerous touches and missed opportunities in the box.

Addressing the issue of forwards’ inability to capitalize on chances, the manager noted the need for increased production, suggesting that attempting 50 or 60 shots might be necessary to secure a goal. Despite dominating against a strong West Ham team, the manager admitted the insufficiency of Arsenal’s performance to secure a victory.

Asked if this was the most frustrating evening in his managerial career, he affirmed it was, attributing it to football’s unpredictable nature. He emphasized the team’s need to take another step in scoring goals consistently to achieve easier victories, underscoring their deserving performance in the match.

Regarding the VAR call on the first goal, the manager expressed uncertainty about the technology’s definitive nature and acknowledged the lack of control over such decisions. He emphasized the importance of moving forward despite the contentious call.

When asked about resolving the chance issue internally, the manager reiterated his admiration for the players and emphasized the need to work on improving circumstances, intensifying training, and boosting self-assurance. He dismissed the idea of confidence issues, pointing out the fine margins involved in scoring goals.

Commenting on the first goal’s VAR decision and the availability of camera angles, the manager remained unsure and stressed the team’s responsibility to win games without relying on technology. He expressed the belief that the team should have done enough to secure victory given the numerous scenarios produced during the game.

Addressing the conversion rate and the number of touches in the box, the manager acknowledged West Ham’s excellence in timing and defending. He highlighted the team’s failure to adequately defend the box in crucial moments, attributing the dismal evening to missed opportunities and the game’s potential for greater results.
