Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is at the center of a legal dispute that has attracted significant attention off the pitch. The 25-year-old Argentine international, who plays a pivotal role for both Liverpool and the Argentina national team, is reportedly being sued by Mayan, a model and social media influencer, over unresolved financial matters tied to their long-term relationship, according to *The Mirror*.
The legal action comes two years after Mac Allister and Mayan ended their five-year relationship. The breakup was allegedly sparked by Mac Allister leaving Mayan for her friend, Ailén Cova, who is now his current partner.
Ahead of Argentina’s match against Paraguay during the international break, Mac Allister addressed the situation publicly. He confirmed that his relationship with Mayan had concluded definitively and explained that the ongoing dispute is being handled through the appropriate legal channels.
Mac Allister acknowledged Mayan’s decision to pursue legal action, stating that it was within her rights. He added that the pair had previously discussed their differences when they separated. Addressing the issue, he remarked:
“There was no more relationship. She took her path, I took mine, and that’s it. As for the other thing (lawsuit), everything is in court, where it should be, and we are waiting. At the time we discussed what we needed to discuss, but it was clearly her decision. Everything is fine, and she is within her rights.”
Since joining Liverpool in June last year, Mac Allister has proven himself as one of the team’s key players. Signed on a five-year deal for an initial fee of £35 million, potentially rising to £55 million with add-ons, he has made a strong impact on the squad. During the 2023-2024 season, the Argentine midfielder made 46 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists.
Mac Allister’s contributions have been instrumental in Liverpool’s recent success. Currently, the club leads both the Premier League and Champions League standings, positioning themselves as strong contenders for major trophies this season. Despite the legal challenges, fans are hopeful that Mac Allister will remain focused on his performances, as his form will be critical to Liverpool’s ambitions.
The midfielder’s professionalism on and off the pitch will be closely watched as the legal case unfolds. Liverpool supporters will be eager to see him continue excelling in his role, helping the team maintain their momentum as they strive for domestic and European glory.
