“I couldn’t hold back my tears when he told us he’s leaving this summer. He’s everything to us on the field,” said Alexis Mac Allister in an emotional press conference, confirming that a key Liverpool player—neither Trent Alexander-Arnold nor Darwin Núñez—will depart at the end of the season. Want help figuring out who it could be?

During a recent press conference, Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister was visibly emotional as he confirmed the impending departure of a significant teammate, expressing his deep sorrow. “I broke down in tears when he said he’s leaving us this summer. Without him, we’re nothing on the pitch,” he said. While fans initially speculated that it might be Trent Alexander-Arnold or Darwin Núñez, new reports suggest the player in question is Diogo Jota.

Liverpool is reportedly open to parting ways with Jota during the upcoming transfer window, but only if a satisfactory offer is made. According to *CaughtOffside*, the club has placed a valuation of €50–55 million on the Portuguese forward. Although Jota is still considered a valuable member of the squad, his repeated injury issues have raised concerns, prompting the club to consider selling him if the right deal comes along.

A number of clubs are said to be monitoring Jota’s situation closely. Among them are Premier League sides Wolves—Jota’s former club—Aston Villa, and Newcastle United. Additionally, interest has emerged from Saudi Arabian giants such as Al Hilal, Al Ittihad, and Al Nassr, who are reportedly ready to make a move if Liverpool signals readiness to sell.

Despite the speculation, Liverpool is not actively trying to offload Jota. The club remains aware of his technical abilities and his versatility in playing across all positions in the front three. However, given their need for reinforcements in the squad and financial flexibility in the transfer market, a substantial offer might be too tempting to refuse. Selling Jota could provide the necessary funds to pursue top-quality signings in key areas, especially up front.

Furthermore, the uncertainty surrounding Darwin Núñez’s future adds another layer of complexity to Liverpool’s attacking options. Should both Jota and Núñez leave, the Reds would be left with a significant void in their attacking line-up—one that would need urgent addressing in the transfer market.

Liverpool fans and pundits have expressed mixed emotions about the potential sale. Liam Togher, a journalist from *Empire of the Kop*, urged the club to proceed cautiously. “Jota may have had a frustrating campaign, but he’s still capable of delivering match-winning moments. Liverpool should think twice before letting him go,” he stated, highlighting Jota’s impact even amid a difficult season.

The departure of Diogo Jota, if it materializes, will undoubtedly mark a significant shift in Liverpool’s attacking philosophy and transfer priorities going forward.
