United’s star midfielder, Casemiro, struggled throughout the 2023/24 season, suffering from injuries and inconsistent play. His difficulties were apparent as he frequently lost possession and was often outpaced by opponents. These issues led to him losing his starting position to Amrabat in the FA Cup final, where he was benched and then withdrew due to an injury sustained during warm-up.
Given Casemiro’s challenges, United’s management might consider letting the Brazilian veteran go, especially since Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr are reportedly interested and willing to offer a substantial fee for him.
In contrast, Amrabat has shown potential to be a valuable addition. Morocco manager Walid Regragui described him as a ‘world-class’ player, and Amrabat has recently begun to demonstrate his true abilities. While he may not be a significant upgrade over Casemiro, his performances suggest he could be a reliable addition to United’s squad, providing depth and stability in midfield. Moreover, the financial feasibility of securing Amrabat is attractive; the funds required for his transfer could be balanced by the potential sale of Casemiro.
