**Manchester United Icon Slams FIFA and FA for Double Standards in Patrick Dorgu’s Suspension**

    ### Manchester United Legend Criticizes FIFA and FA Over Patrick Dorgu’s Suspension

A Manchester United legend has strongly condemned FIFA and the Football Association (FA), accusing them of applying double standards following the three-match suspension of defender Patrick Dorgu. The former player believes that the punishment is excessively severe and reflective of a biased disciplinary system within football’s governing bodies.

    #### **“A Tough Tackle, But Does It Warrant Such a Ban?”**

The controversy stems from an incident during United’s recent 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town at Old Trafford. During the first half, Dorgu was involved in a mix-up with goalkeeper Andre Onana, which led to an early goal for Ipswich. Shortly afterward, the young defender was sent off following a VAR intervention for a strong challenge on Omari Hutchinson. Initially, referee Darren England did not penalize the challenge, but upon reviewing the footage, he ruled it as serious foul play and brandished a straight red card.

The Manchester United legend, speaking publicly about the matter, expressed frustration at the disciplinary decision:

“Yes, it was a hard challenge, but was it really deserving of such a harsh punishment? Absolutely not! This just goes to show how biased the FA can be. We’ve seen worse challenges in football that were either ignored or met with far lighter sanctions—so why is Dorgu being treated differently? Football needs to return to a time when decisions were made fairly rather than being influenced by hidden agendas.”

    #### **Inconsistencies in Disciplinary Decisions**

At the heart of the former player’s criticism is the apparent inconsistency in how football’s governing bodies handle disciplinary actions. He pointed out that similar or even more severe offenses often receive little to no punishment, creating an unfair precedent.

“It’s incredibly frustrating to witness such inconsistency,” he continued. “Some players get away with dangerous challenges that could seriously injure opponents, while others receive disproportionately harsh bans for less severe infractions. Where’s the consistency? Where’s the fairness in all of this?”

This concern reflects a growing dissatisfaction within the football community regarding the lack of uniformity in refereeing decisions and punishments. Managers, players, supporters, and analysts have frequently criticized the discrepancies in officiating, arguing that different referees apply different standards, leading to widespread frustration and debate.

    #### **Blow to Manchester United’s Squad**

Dorgu’s suspension comes at a crucial moment for Manchester United. The 20-year-old Danish defender, who was signed from Lecce in January, will now be unavailable for three significant matches. His absence means he will miss the FA Cup fifth-round clash against Fulham, as well as key Premier League fixtures against Arsenal and Leicester City.

United manager Rúben Amorim acknowledged that Dorgu’s challenge was strong but insisted that there was no malicious intent behind it. He expressed disappointment that the young defender would have to serve such a lengthy suspension, especially at a time when United’s defensive depth is already being tested.

Ultimately, this incident has reignited discussions about the inconsistencies in football’s disciplinary system, with many questioning whether FIFA and the FA apply their rules fairly across all teams and players.
