Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Jack Grealish will be out of action for several more weeks, including missing the upcoming Manchester derby and other crucial fixtures. Although Grealish returned early from a groin injury, he suffered a recurrence during the FA Cup win over Luton Town, prompting concerns about his return timeline. Guardiola indicated that Grealish is unlikely to be available before the international break later this month.

This setback has implications for City’s key matches, including the derby, Champions League clash against Copenhagen, Premier League encounter with Liverpool, and the FA Cup quarter-final against Newcastle. Guardiola stressed the importance of Grealish’s thorough recovery, emphasizing the team’s need to utilize him effectively when fully fit.

While acknowledging Grealish’s absence will be felt, Guardiola highlighted the squad’s depth and the versatility of players who can step up. Rodri and Phil Foden are expected to play pivotal roles, alongside contenders like Julian Alvarez, Jeremy Doku, and Oscar Bobb.

Guardiola emphasized the significance of upcoming fixtures, recognizing the team’s hard work and dedication throughout the season. Despite the challenges posed by Grealish’s injury, he expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to meet the demands of the Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup.
