Mauricio Pochettino, the Chelsea manager, shed light on the decisions to substitute Mykhailo Mudryk and Moises Caicedo during the game against Fulham at Craven Cottage, which ended in a victory for Chelsea.

In the match, Mykhailo Mudryk showcased his prowess by netting his inaugural Premier League goal for Chelsea, capitalizing on Levi Colwill’s cross within the opening 18 minutes. However, despite this early success, Mudryk had to be substituted off at halftime due to discomfort in his quad. Pochettino emphasized that they would conduct further assessments to ascertain the extent of Mudryk’s injury. The hope remains that it’s a minor issue, and Mudryk will recover in time for the upcoming game on Saturday.

On the other hand, Moises Caicedo played a pivotal role in the midfield, forming a strong partnership with Enzo Fernandez. Their connection was evidently impactful during the game. However, Caicedo sustained a contusion during the match and exhibited signs of exhaustion. Pochettino elaborated that they would closely monitor the seriousness of Caicedo’s condition, emphasizing the need for thorough evaluation to determine his availability for future games.

The win over Fulham was significant for Chelsea, and the performances of Mudryk and Caicedo, albeit marred by injuries and fatigue, played a vital role in securing the victory. The management and medical team will be working diligently to ensure the speedy recovery and well-being of the players, aiming to maintain the team’s competitive edge as they progress in the Premier League.
