Pochettino Advises Chelsea Owner Todd Boehly to Offload First Team Player for £78m to Finance Victor Osimhen Transfer, Citing Superior Squad Options

Chelsea Football Club remains determined to trim their current roster, aiming to generate funds ahead of the imminent closure of the January transfer window.

In the preceding summer transfer window, the West London club fervently pursued several first-team acquisitions, securing talents such as Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, and Nicolas Jackson.

Despite the influx of new signings, Chelsea acknowledges the necessity of offloading peripheral players to maintain fiscal equilibrium.

Speculation suggests that Chelsea, a Premier League outfit, is prepared to offload seasoned goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga permanently this year.

The 29-year-old Spanish international, who joined Chelsea in 2018 from Athletic Bilbao, has experienced fluctuating involvement in the first-team squad in recent seasons.

During the 2022–2023 season, Kepa played a pivotal role, making 39 appearances across all competitions. Subsequently, he was loaned to Real Madrid for the 2023–2024 season, accumulating 17 appearances thus far.

Transfer News Live reports that Chelsea is closely monitoring Kepa’s situation at Real Madrid, intending to capitalize on a permanent deal. The club has allegedly set an asking price of £17 million for the goalkeeper, expressing a strong desire to part ways with him this year.

Considered non-essential to Chelsea’s first team, Kepa Arrizabalaga is reportedly available for transfer, with manager Mauricio Pochettino open to offers.

The uncertainty lies in whether elite European teams are willing to meet the £17 million transfer fee for Kepa Arrizabalaga, securing his services under a long-term contract.
