Chelsea manager Pochettino is revisiting his transfer options to secure a consistent goal-scoring striker. The team is currently lacking a prolific 25-goal forward, which is crucial for a Premier League title run and consistent Champions League participation.
Recent rumors circulating in the media suggest Chelsea’s interest in signing Vlahovic, who moved to Juventus two summers ago but hasn’t met their goal-scoring expectations. Journalist Simon Phillips provided an update on Chelsea’s pursuit of a new striker, mentioning Stamford Bridge talks about the possibility of acquiring Vlahovic.
Despite Vlahovic being only 23 and valued at €60m by Transfermarkt, he has accumulated significant experience in major games for both his club and country. While there’s media speculation regarding a potential move to the Premier League, Vlahovic seems content at Juventus and has hinted at the possibility of extending his contract with the club.
“I’m very happy to be at Juventus,” Vlahovic expressed to Gazzetta. His current deal with Juve spans another two and a half years, and discussions about a contract extension are already underway between director Giuntoli and his agent.
Although Vlahovic is a promising forward, some Chelsea fans are advocating for the board to consider Ivan Toney, Brentford’s striker. Toney is viewed as the ideal forward to lead Chelsea to titles and reestablish their presence in the Champions League.
Despite the ongoing transfer speculation, Vlahovic appears committed to Juventus for the time being, emphasizing that there’s no rush to make a decision. The dynamics of Chelsea’s striker pursuit continue to unfold, with fans divided on whether Vlahovic or Toney would be the better fit for the club’s aspirations.
