Cesc Fabregas, the renowned footballer celebrated for his time at Arsenal, Chelsea, and Barcelona, is on the verge of stepping into his inaugural coaching role as the head coach for Como in Serie B.
Reports, including one from Fabrizio Romano, suggest that the 36-year-old former midfielder is set to take over coaching duties at Como, replacing Moreno Longo who was dismissed after Como secured a 1-0 victory over Ascoli.
Fabregas had previously been appointed as the coach of Como’s youth team last summer, marking his transition from a stellar playing career with the club. Despite having experience with Como’s youth team, this appointment signifies Fabregas’s debut as a first-team coach.
During the previous season, Fabregas contributed to Como by playing 17 games in Serie B. The team currently holds the sixth position in the Serie B standings, amassing 21 points in 12 matches, positioning them within the play-off zone and eight points behind league leaders Parma.
Fabregas, known for his illustrious playing career, clinched significant achievements, including winning the World Cup and the European Championship twice with the Spanish national team. His success extends to league titles in both England and Spain during his tenures at Barcelona and Chelsea, respectively.
This coaching opportunity aligns with Fabregas’s ongoing association with Como, where he has been actively involved since concluding his playing career. As he steps into the head coach role for Como, Fabregas aims to bring his wealth of experience to guide the team through the challenges of Serie B.
