“I made every effort to convince him to choose Manchester City, but it seems his decision is firm: Rodri confirms his £60 million international teammate has rejected City and opted for a move to Arsenal in January.”

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, expressed his efforts to convince a particular player to join the team, but it seems that the player has already made up his mind. Rodri confirmed this by revealing that his international teammate, valued at £60 million, turned down a move to Arsenal in January.

Arsenal is reportedly interested in acquiring RB Leipzig’s midfielder, Dani Olmo, who has been likened to Real Madrid’s Luka Modric. Despite having a strong roster, Mikel Arteta’s team is always looking for opportunities to improve. In recent days, Arsenal has been linked to various players, including Dani Olmo. He is seen as an appealing alternative for the club. Dani Olmo, a target for Arsenal, has been compared to Luka Modric. Reports suggest that both Arsenal and Barcelona are interested in signing Dani Olmo, who has a £52 million release clause in his contract.

The 25-year-old Olmo has had an outstanding season with RB Leipzig, scoring five goals and providing an assist in just four appearances. What sets Olmo apart is his versatility, as he can play on either wing or in midfield, which has caught the attention of Arteta.

Just nine weeks ago, the Bundesliga’s official website published an article comparing Olmo to a young Luka Modric, describing him as “playing like a young Luka Modric.” Olmo is recognized as one of the most talented midfield maestros in Spain today. Despite his Spanish background, Olmo speaks fluent Croatian and was once a fan favorite at Dinamo Zagreb. His exceptional technical abilities are reminiscent of Real Madrid’s serial winner, Modric.

Olmo’s skills were showcased with a brilliantly-taken goal in Spain’s opening game at the 2022 FIFA World Cup against Costa Rica, marking La Roja’s 100th goal in the competition. His close ball control, reminiscent of Modric’s, is a sight to behold and a challenge for opponents.

The question arises: does Arsenal really need Dani Olmo, no matter how excellent he is? The Gunners already have a talented roster, including Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Fabio Vieira, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli, and Emile Smith Rowe, all of whom are excellent players. Smith Rowe, in particular, has the potential to surpass Olmo, and Arsenal might be better off giving him more opportunities rather than investing over £50 million in the RB Leipzig star.

The upcoming January transfer window will be intriguing for Arsenal fans, but it remains uncertain whether they will pursue Olmo or a player of similar caliber. Arsenal’s current squad is brimming with talent, and the decision to pursue a player like Dani Olmo will depend on Mikel Arteta’s vision for the team’s future and its aspirations in domestic and international competitions.
