Pep Guardiola expressed confidence in his Manchester City team following a victory against RB Leipzig in the Champions League, emphasizing that he never doubted his players despite recent defeats to Newcastle and Wolves. The treble-winning team faced challenges in those games with opponents defending with many players in the box, making it difficult to break through. Guardiola stressed that judging the team solely based on results wouldn’t be fair and emphasized his trust in the players’ training sessions and mentality.

Looking ahead to the match against Arsenal, Guardiola maintained his belief in the team’s abilities and outlined their approach to play ‘their game’ at the Emirates. He acknowledged the importance of delivering a strong performance and emphasized the team’s resilience, regardless of whether they win or lose. Guardiola also praised teenager Rico Lewis for his outstanding performance against Leipzig and hinted at his potential role in midfield against Arsenal due to Rodri’s suspension.
